The Help

Introduction
I chose this movie, because it was the last movie, that i watched. It stands out, because the subject of black people serving their white counterparts is taboo.

Describe
The Help is set during the 1960s. A young woman writes a novel describing the black house maid's view on serving the white family and raising their children. The Lead actor is Emma Stone. Her previous works are Zombieland, Easy A, and Superbad.

Analyze
It is similar to Emma Stone's other works, because she is a leading lady. It is different to them, because she has never really done anything on a taboo topic. Black equality is still taboo.

Intrepretation
It is important, because it involves a heated topic. The trend, it reflects, is a lot movies are talking about heated topics, but in a different light. The target audience is 18-30. The stereotypes are the poor, black person and the rich, white person.

Evaluation
I loved this movie. this is currently the best work by director Tate Taylor. It is memorable, because the cast works well together, it has humor, and it is very heartfelt story about women in the 1960s.

Engage
My family loved this movie.

The Walking Dead

                          The Walking Dead

Describe:
The Walking Dead. Season 2, Episode 7 "Pretty Much Dead Already"
February 2, 2012 at 1 p.m.
Network: AMC (American Movie Classics)
Genre: Zombie Drama

Rick and the group continue their search for Sophia. Glenn reveals that there are walkers in the barn. Dr. Hershel threatens to kick them off of his land, because he treats the walkers, like they are humans, but the rest of the group, treats them like animals. Rick begs Hershel to let them stay, because Lori is pregnant.
When Shane learns of the walkers, in the barn, he freaks out. He breaks open the barn door, and the groups shoots down the walkers, as they come stampeding out of the barn. By this time, everyone is worn out, but then the last walker ambles out of the barn. Sophia has been turned! Everyone was in so much shock, that Rick had to be the one to shoot her.

            The Walking Dead Locations

Analyze:
The attitude projected by the walking dead is "end of the world." Many shows try to pull off zombies, but the walking dead is the only one that has been successful so far. The Characters are just like normal people. No one is famous. Some similarities to other shows are that they are normal people, and the end of the world is near. The major difference, in this show, is that it is about zombies, and no one has a show about zombies.

Interpret:
The Leader: Rick Grimes has been in control, ever since he awoke from the coma. Before the zombie apocalypse, he was sheriff.

2nd in Command: Shane Walsh has Rick's back, sort of. Before the zombie apocalypse, Shane served as officer under Rick. Shane has been lusting after Rick's wife, Lori, for a long time.

The Wise Man: Dale Horvath is the old man, who drives to R.V. He is always giving out advice, and helping others out.

The Messenger: Glenn is their runner. He sneaks into abandoned towns, that are overrun, and he gets needed supplies and takes them back to camp

I think the commercials are geared towards an older audience, because AMC is a classic movie channel.
If I visited from a different country, I would be ecstatic to come here. The food is great; the men are gorgeous; and the television is so advanced.

 Evaluate:

The Walking Dead has many strengths, and very few weaknesses. Some of the strengths are the quality of the actors, diversity of the cast, and the uniqueness of the show. One of the weaknesses of the show is that there are some annoying female cast members.

I love this show. Everything about it is amazing. The zombies make this show memorable. Every critic, that I have looked at, has given this show thumbs up.

Engage:

I love this show, and I watch it, religiously, every week. I got all my friends and family into watching it. I am a fan on facebook, but I do not visit the website very often.

Conclusions:

I learned so much about the actors, of this show. I learned that critics love this show. One thing that surprised is that how popular this show really is.
